Props i’ve made
From oversized weapons to detailed armor pieces, here’s a look at some of the cosplay props I’ve built by hand. Every piece is designed for durability, comfort, and screen-accurate flair — perfect for cons, photoshoots, and high-impact cosplay.
beastlord sword from nier Replicant / Automata
This was my very first prop build — the Beastlord sword from NieR. I made it completely from scratch using just what I had on hand: a PVC pipe for the core, foam, cardboard, popsicle sticks, and foam clay for all the details. I was on a tight budget, but I was determined to bring this massive, brutal-looking weapon to life. It’s rough, it’s heavy, and honestly… I’m still proud of how it turned out.
YOKO LITNER SNIPER RIFLE FROM gurren lagann
For this sniper rifle build, I tried a totally new approach. I started with a cardboard cutout as the base shape, then sprayed expanding foam over it and carved out the details with an X-Acto knife. Once the shape was locked in, I reinforced it with layers of fiberglass and resin for durability. The result is a lightweight but sturdy prop that captures Yoko's iconic weapon with a handmade touch and a lot of love.
RYUKO SCISSOR BLADE FROM KILL LA KILL
I built this Scissor Blade completely from scratch using a flat piece of wood as the base for strength, then layered it with foam, cardboard, popsicle sticks, and foam clay to shape the blade and handle. I was working on a tight budget, so I used what I had and focused on getting the proportions and silhouette just right. It turned out lightweight, durable, and super fun to pose with.
Kainé swords from nier Replicant
I made Kaine’s swords completely from scratch using a flat piece of wood for the base, layered with foam, cardboard, popsicle sticks, and foam clay for all the detailing. I kept things lightweight and budget-friendly while focusing on capturing the unique shape and gritty feel of her weapons. These were a fun challenge to build and really pulled the whole cosplay together.
boosette crown from super mario
I made this Boosette crown completely from scratch using EVA foam for the base and foam clay for the details and gem. It’s lightweight, comfy to wear, and budget-friendly — but still gives that royal, ghostly flair. Perfect for completing the look with a little spooky glam.
tsubaki chain scythes from soul eater
I built Tsubaki’s chain scythes completely from scratch using lightweight materials — layered foam, cardboard, foam clay, and a touch of creativity to bring the design to life. Just like my Yoko sniper, this was all hand-crafted and painted on a budget, with a focus on making them convention-friendly and easy to pose with. The chains are lightweight but give the illusion of real metal, keeping the look sharp without sacrificing comfort.
